Capital Campaign Fund

Village Square Theatre has been a vital part of the Lexington arts community for over 30 years and during that time has presented countless productions for Lexington and the surrounding areas. In addition to the regular production season we also have a summer workshop which gives children and youth the opportunity to experience live theater in a unique way. This past summer over 140 children were involved in the summer production. We also offer acting classes for children, youth, and adults , as well as group music lessons , and private voice and piano lessons.Village Square Theatre is truly a "working theater" as something is going on 7 days a week.Because of our successful production seasons, our Jr.Arts productions, and our summer workshop, the Board has determined that we need to expand our teaching ability as well as our space by constructing an Education Center which will give us additional classroom and storage space,as well as a theater in the round for smaller productions. We have had an architect draw up a proposal for the building and the cost of the construction is somewhere in the $185,000 range. This is an auspicious undertaking for any theater but we feel that we have enough community support to warrant moving forward with the project.
